Who do you Worship?

May 19, 2026

On a recent fast, the Lord brought to attention these passages:

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 25:14-30

This verse really convicted me. I began to wonder if, not seeing myself properly was causing me to drop stewardship of certain gifts or talents, the Lord wanted me to continue in.

I shared with you in an earlier video, how at the age of four, I asked Jesus into my heart and felt the love of God so strong, all I wanted to do was share Him with everyone I knew.  As I got a bit older, I realized there was a job description for someone like this: A missionary.

After some painful rejection and some deep-rooted church hurt, I abandoned that desire and went another direction.  God reminded me of this and said, You are an Evangelist. I am now committed to sharing Christ more boldly and have gone on little missions with the Holy Spirit in my community.  It may not look like ‘missionary work’ because I’m not going to Africa but Evangelism is Mission work.  I’m learning how to steward this as God leads.

But…God reminded me of another ‘talent’, I have pushed down and ignored:

When I was growing up, our school connected and competed in local and national talent competitions.  After I left high school, I didn’t think much about it. I really considered it not a big deal and these were just kid hobbies not to be taken seriously. I was taught my gifts weren’t useful or important in life and I needed to make a living to support myself.

So, the things I seem to excel at aren’t “useful” in society. I’m not doing anything important, being an expressive creative.

All these old memories of my childhood and artistic expression came up.

The Lord spoke to my heart,

“You used to sing to me. Why don’t you do that anymore?” I said, God, come on, that’s like a kid thing, you He said, But you really sang to me from your heart, and I created you to sing. That is a gift I’ve given you, and I want you to steward it.

So I was like, that’s weird. Okay. I put that on the shelf and thought perhaps I imagined God was saying that. The crazy part was John said to less than a week after this conversation with God, “I really think you need to sing more. I like your voice. You should develop your voice and go to singing lessons.”

If John and I have too opposing talents; He’s good at saving money and I’m GREAT at spending it. The fact he suggested spending money felt like a supernatural confirmation from God.  I went to a few lessons and can feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit to practice every day.  I feel compelled to steward my gift well and I know if I just practice, I will get better because our voice is a muscle that needs to be exercised.

I’ve committed to discipling myself and focusing on developing what God has given me. This new discipline has taken my focus off the things of this world and putting my time and effort into worship and talent sharpening. So as I am practicing singing, There’s a verse that came up for me in Zephaniah that says, the Lord sings a song over us.

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

This is one of my favorite verses because as I picture the Lord singing over us, get a vision of a baby that is emotionally dysregulated.  The  mother brings the baby close to her heartbeat and hums a song over the child. The baby breathes in the atmosphere and is settled.

This is a huge factor in healing. Feeling seen, cared for, and loved. That vibration of song through the mother was vital in recalibrating the baby to a new rythmn…a new heartbeat of peace and security.God sings over us. God Himself regulates us. God has a song specific to us that breaks off the demonic realm. He says, he inhabits the praises of his people. Right? So do you think that if Jesus is singing over us, God’s not there in that?

What I also saw in this vision is when we sing a worship song to the Lord, we’re not just blessing the Lord. The blessing actually boomerangs back to us. We need to sing for this is how we receive our refocus onto the Lord. We’re regulating our own physical bodies, which breaks off depression. We come against the forces of darkness with a simple song. God also reminded me of how that Satan has captured the minds in the hearts of so many people through the gift of song. We, as children of God, can actually take authority of our own mouths and ears and use the power of song, to our advantage by using our own voice and praising God.

We can stand up for God by not singing what the culture around us is singing, but singing above our crisis and trials with faith and worship of God. We can choose worship when we are being attacked. We can choose align our hearts with the song God sings over us. We can sing it back to him and receive something for ourselves, which is amazing, right?

God is so generous that He actually gives breakthroughs as we obey him. When we are carnally minded, we think: “Oh, God wants worship. He is an egotistical god.” No, God knows that worshiping him helps us. The enemy doesn’t want us to see it that way. He wants to twist the gift of worship into something that he has created it to be. An anthem of Rebellion against God and a worship of our Will.

Think about what demonic people sing about? It’s all ego. Do what thou wilt. Myself, myself, myself.

When we glorify God, we get out of ourselves. We think about how great God is. We think about how merciful and kind He is, and as we think of those things, our problems shrink. We can stand up against them with strength and power because we have joy in our Lord. We don’t worship some wimpy god. We worship a powerful God that loves us. So it’s not about God’s ego when we’re worshiping Him. Its about honoring the God who loves us so much He relieves us of our burdens as we focus on Him.

When you think about all those satanic worshipers, putting out low vibrations into the atmosphere with their music. They are speaking death, perversion and curses over the people. They want you to worship them with your money, time and adoration. When God says he wants us to worship him, why? Because it’s not healthy for one human being to worship or idolize another human being. Which is what worship has become now.

We have tainted worship even as believers. We have tainted worship. Because we have gotten our eyes off of Jesus, and we’ve gotten our attention, we’ve given our attention to men. to the gifts of man, the focus of man, the worship of man. These demonically charged people, They love the worship. They love the attention. They love the energy, and yet they hate it at the same time. You know why? Because no human being can contain the pressure of being worshipped. It’s not good for them. It’s not good for any of us to be worshipped.

Yet the lust of our flesh desires it.  It’s like an unhealthy addiction; a compulsion towards what will destroy us. We know it’s not good for another human being to be worshiped. Look at Justin Bieber. Micheal Jackson. Britney Spears. We were not created to contain worship. God did not design us to be worshipped. He designed us to be worshippers. I’m sharing all of this because the Lord has been telling me to sing to him every day and I have. It’s breaking off depression, giving me so much joy, focus and purpose. It’s also moving my heart and my attention away from the things of this world and the current culture.

I believe God wants all of his children to use their voices to praise him, and whether you like your voice or not, This is what the Lord told me: “You only don’t like your voice because you haven’t developed it. And I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone is capable of being a decent singer, because everyone has a voice, and everyone has time to train that voice. How? You can train in the shower. You can train while you’re washing the dishes. While you’re driving. You can fit it in anywhere and everywhere if you discipline yourself. And you can develop what was maybe a weak voice into a strong voice, just by showing up every single day, every single day, over and over and over and over again.

Do you think that any of the talents that we see out there just are just woke up, rolled out of bed, and sounded like Celine Dion? No, it took work. It took effort, it took showing up. Can we show up for God? Can we show up for ourselves? And what will God break off of us when we do make time to invest in what is best for our Spirits? What will happen if we use our voice for something more powerful than complaining or reflecting the culture? Children of God are people of worship. So I just wanted to share that with you, it was super powerful for me. God bless you.

Here are five key lessons I got out of Matthew 25:13-30

We are Stewards, Not Owners: Everything we have—time, money, and talents—belongs to God, and we must manage these resources to serve Him, our call and others as He leads.

God Gives According to Ability: God gives different gifts to everybody but always according to what we are able to handle (five talents, two, or one). We must maximize our unique potential, not compete with others

Faithfulness Requires Active Action, Not Fear: The servant who hid his talent was condemned, not because he lost funds, but because he did nothing with it out of fear. We are to take risks and act on our faith, not to be passive or apathetic.

We Are Accountable for Our Choices: The Master will return to settle accounts and check on what we did. Our life is not ours to waste; we must give an account of how we’ve used our gifts to increase our Master’s “investment” in us.

Faithfulness Brings Reward and Greater Responsibility: Those faithful with little were trusted with even more and invited to partake in the “joy of their lord”. Proper stewardship in daily life prepares us for greater spiritual responsibilities and eternal blessings.

Let us use what God has given to glorify Him, rather than burying it out of fear.
