I felt led to share a Revelation the Lord has given me in my private prayer and journaling time with Him. This is from my journal.
Lord, Thank you for the freedom I’m walking in today. The Spirit of Offense has kept me bound and captive for years. Can you tell me more about this Spirit? How it operates and its strategy to disarm me?
The Spirit of Offense never works alone. It’s predecessor, Pride always opens the door. Often, these spirits make room for self-righteousness, arrogance and entitlement.
Offense is sticky-for once you allow it into your heart, it will stick to every relationship and begin to corrode it.
Let’s say someone does or says something which incites a Spirit of Offence to rise.
Take a breath and ask my Spirit to help you focus on the good and lovely things. In a moment of offense, this the hardest thing to do but you were made for love and with my help and with practice this will become easier. I am not asking you to focus on the good and lovely to keep you ignorant, complacent or in denial. I’m giving you a higher strategy to fight evil with good so you can beat the enemy at his game.
When you decree my word and will over any person or circumstance, in the spirit realm, this breaks the trance the enemy has put his victim under. Often, this result in upheaval of emotions because shame will not allow the victim to receive truth in love.
But my strategies are for the long game. So endure with patience as I’ve done with you. For just as I never gave up on you, I will empower you to extend that same mercy and grace.
You cannot defeat the spirit of Offense by being Defensive. You overcome it by activating a Spirit of Self Control over yourself and your emotions. By staying silent, you allow my spirit to convict. It’s vital that you also allow me to wash your countenance with Peace and Love.
Many people take my first instruction, but they allow their emotions to leak through their body language and facial expressions. When you filly submit to the heart behind my ways, you will offer your emotions, expressions and even words as a living sacrifice. This allows my Spirit to move upon your circumstance.
Many are too impatient to ride this wave of unknowing. They wish to gratify their flesh, which can never be satisfied and in the end this leads to death. My ways produce life, peace and fruit that will satisfy.
Don’t let Impatience, Pride and Offense steal your inheritance as it has done for so many of my children. Be a catalyst of hope and healing to the hurting. For hurt people hurt people but healed people can also heal others.
