In light of what has been happening in the middle East, we must get sober about the days we’re living in. Jesus is coming soon, and God has called us to much in these end days.
Here is our call to action:
1.We need to cultivate a spiritual readiness and live with urgency.
“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” Matthew 25:10-13
How do we get to know God? By fostering a thriving, intimate relationship with Him. This involves:
– Daily prayer
-regular engagement with scripture
-authentic fellowship with other believers
2.We must walk in love and righteousness
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3
Our lives should strive to reflect Jesus’ character. This means practicing love, mercy, kindness, forgiveness and compassion, not just to those who love us but to those who are difficult to love. We must stand against injustice, speak the truth and strive to be righteous, even when its inconvenient or uncomfortable.
3.We must share the good news of the gospel, which is the ultimate hope. A hope the world desperately needs to hear.
We are called to be Salt and Light. Salt to preserve the Faith and Light to illuminate the path to salvation. There is power in sharing your personal testimony. What your life was like before encountering Jesus and how the Holy Spirit has brought about real change.
4. We must be diligent stewards to further the Kingdom of God with causes that align with Biblical values.
This could mean giving our time, talents and finances
5.We must commit a life of prayer. Especially to intercede for Israel.
Pray for:
-The end of terror attacks
-For the safe return of hostages
-For a lasting peace to reign in the region
-God’s hand of protection over Israel
-For Jesus to reveal Himself to His people and their oppressors.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28
This not a time for fear, dread, or despair but of spiritual and moral preparation. Let’s keep our eyes open to unfolding prophecies and our hearts aligned with God’s purposes. Let’s live each day worthy of our calling, making the most of every opportunity for increasing the Kingdom of God on this earth.
