“What bliss you experience when your heart is pure. For then your eyes will open to see more and more of God.” Matthew 5:8 TPT
Heavenly Father,
For months, every night I pray that I will encounter you in visions and dreams. There has been no answer to this prayer and when I awaken, my heart feels hopeless and forgotten. In Hebrews 13:5, your word promises you will never leave me or forsake me. In Deuteronomy 31:8 It says you will go before me and never forsake me. When feelings of sadness or abandonment encroach on my heart, I remind myself of this.
I also stand on your promise in John 20:29, “Blessed are those who have not seen yet have believed.” Lord, anchor my Hope and my wavering emotions in the stability of your words. After meditating on Matthew 5:8, I am understanding the benefits and the reasons why you are compelling me into a life of deeper purity and holiness.
It has been my desire to see you. You are compelling me to be pure because not only is it good for me but the ones I touch. The more I become like you, the more others will see YOU in ME. This is part of the great commission. My Life in Christ will draw others to see and Believe in the Power generated to change me. Also, you know I am a goal-oriented person. If I have a target I am shooting for, I must know how and where I am!
By the promise of seeing you, you are motivating me to STAY RIGHTEOUS! I praise you, God for your ways are higher than mine! Everything you do is multi-faceted! It’s always to not only benefit me but to bless others.
“Heavenly Father,
I praise you, The Faithful One! Even when I’ve failed you, you never give up on me.
Lord, I want to see your glory.
But, you desire to manifest yourself through my life. You desire my heart to be purified and sanctified so I can reflect HOPE to a world desperate for it.
You are shifting the desires of my heart towards Holiness, Love, Forgiveness and Longsuffering.
To the unbelieving, this could appear to be a life of labor or restraint.
But to your Beloved, it is a labor of love and a life of freedom in Christ. In the end, I will bear much fruit for your kingdom.
Forgive me for asking to see your face, when I haven’t gone through the measures to prepare myself for such a gift.
For your word says, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
Today, I humbly pray, “Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit withing me. Cast me not away from thy presence: take not thy Holy Spirit from me.” Psalm 51:10
Consume the dross and useless things so I can make room for more of you.
Purify. Sanctify and rectify my mind, will and emotions.
Bless me to worship you with my full heart and to live a life that expresses my deep love and gratefulness.
Whether I see you or not, my heart burns to become more like you.
Keep the oil in my lamp full until the day we see each other face to face.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
