Ask these questions of yourself prayerfully, honestly, and regularly…
1. WHO DO YOU FEAR MOST?
This is foundational.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10
Ask:
• Do I fear God more than losing approval?
• Do I obey even when it costs me?
• Do I soften truth to avoid discomfort?
If you fear man more than God, your life is out of alignment.
2. WHAT DO YOU OBEY QUICKLY — AND WHAT DO YOU DELAY?
Obedience reveals lordship.
“Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?” Luke 6:46
Ask:
• Is there something God has told me to stop that I haven’t?
• Something He told me to do that I keep postponing?
Delayed obedience is disobedience.
3. WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SIN?
Not perfection — direction.
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves.” 1 John 1:8
Ask:
• Do I confess quickly or justify?
• Do I hate sin or manage it?
• Do I repent or rationalize?
God looks for brokenness, not excuses.
4. WHAT SHAPES YOUR THINKING MOST?
Scripture or culture?
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” Romans 12:2
Ask:
• Do my opinions match Scripture when they conflict?
• Or do I reinterpret Scripture to fit my views?
What you submit to shapes you.
5. WHAT FRUIT IS EVIDENT IN YOUR LIFE?
Fruit is visible over time.
“By their fruit you will know them.” Matthew 7:20
Look honestly:
• love
• humility
• self-control
• patience
• faithfulness
No fruit doesn’t mean no salvation — but it does mean no growth.
6. WHAT DO YOU RUN TO FOR COMFORT?
This reveals your functional god.
“You shall have no other gods before Me.” Exodus 20:3
Ask:
• When stressed, do I run to God or distractions?
• Do I numb or pray?
Comfort idols compete with Christ.
7. WHAT DOES YOUR PRAYER LIFE ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?
Not intentions — reality.
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Ask:
• Is prayer reflex or last resort?
• Do I pray for alignment or outcomes only?
Weak prayer reveals misplaced dependence.
8. HOW DO YOU HANDLE SUFFERING AND CORRECTION?
This is a major test.
“The Lord disciplines the one He loves.” Hebrews 12:6
Ask:
• Do I submit or resist correction?
• Do trials draw me closer or make me bitter?
Endurance shows maturity.
9. WHO OR WHAT HAS YOUR PRIMARY ALLEGIANCE?
This is the dividing line.
“You cannot serve two masters.” Matthew 6:24
Ask:
• If obedience cost me comfort, would I obey?
• If faithfulness cost reputation, would I remain faithful?
God does not share lordship.
10. ARE YOU FINISHING FAITHFULLY — OR JUST STAYING BUSY?
Activity is not faithfulness.
“Be doers of the word, not hearers only.” James 1:22
Ask:
• Am I growing in Christlikeness?
• Or just staying occupied with religious things?
God measures direction, not speed.
A SOBER PRAYER FOR EVALUATION (BIBLICAL)
“Search me, O God, and know my heart…
See if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23–24
Pray this slowly. Mean it.
IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION (DO NOT MISS THIS)
Biblical evaluation is not:
1.comparison with others
2. perfectionism
3. self-hatred
4. despair
It is:
1.repentance
2. alignment with God’s will
3. humility
4. growth of character
“Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation without regret.” 2 Corinthians 7:10
FINAL TRUTH (NO FILTER)
If your life is:
• increasingly obedient
• increasingly humble
• increasingly aware of sin
• increasingly dependent on God
You are walking successfully — even if it feels slow, hidden, or costly.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
