January 1st, I journaled asking God what my word (or focus) for this year should be. This is what I received:
My love for you is boundless. It is immense, unlimited and eternal—it goes before you and began long before time was an actual element. If you tap into my love as your wellspring, you will be able to love in a way that’s supernatural. Your needs and desires are endless and boundless but always remember, so is my love.
Jules, I am love. To flow in my spirit, you must always come from a place of love and compassion. And from this place, you open portals of divine possibility. We will work as one because we carry the same spirit and mission-which is love! How can evil reign when love is encountered? It cannot compete.
Some people are comforted by the cold—they barricade their lives with things and empty pursuits. They construct Empires of sand by investing in things with no eternal value.
Pursuing authentic love and laying down your life may seem futile but it’s an investment which brings eternal richness, depth and satisfaction no money can buy.
You have big, unfulfilled dreams but the destiny I have for you is even bigger! When you find yourself frustrated, lost or unfulfilled, instead of looking outward or pursuing more…go smaller!
Find my voice in the simple and mundane. When you feel overwhelmed, this is not me. I will lead you to the WellSpring of life and as you flow in my generous love, my spirit will pour through you without effort!
As you point to my goodness, you will become a wellspring of hope and refreshment; trust me to fill, strengthen, guide, protect and supply all you need to do it.
Your word for this year is: LOVE.
You’ll be given many opportunities to love others—both loving an unloving people. As you come to me, I will bestow all the wisdom, strength and discernment needed to love them well while also taking care of you. I will bestow all you need according to my riches in glory.
Prayer for the Baptism of Love:
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to go deeper into you. God, you are love. I understand this to some degree, and attempt to walk in love as best as I can, but I need the love Christ walked in. That unconditional, sacrificial, servant-hearted and passionate love.
Christ’s love changed the trajectory of history. I need this kind of love to make my eternal impact.
God consume every obstacle which has stopped me from going deeper in love for others. Repair every traumatic memory from those who should have loved me but couldn’t.
In my own heart, I bind the spirit of offense and un-forgiveness. I’ve been forgiven of much and in receiving your grace, I bestow the same to those who’ve hurt me.
Give me an understanding of who I am in Christ and help me set clear boundaries within myself for those who push the limits. Help me discern the wolves scattered among your sheep.
Burn away all selfishness and replace those parts of me with sustainable, powerful love in action. Show me where I am unloving and grieve my heart for what grieves yours.
Lord, your love is supernatural, this makes it impossible for me to love like you…in my own strength. Lord, fill this vessel; let me overflow with so much love I cannot contain it. Bless me not to keep this love to myself and my immediate circle of influence.
Strengthen me with boldness to reach outside my comfort zone for this is where miracles happen.
I was not created to love myself and supply all my own needs. I was created to love others and receive love. Bless me to be a vessel of healing and a trophy of triumph against the kingdom of selfishness, which is the darkness of this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
