“Lord I thank you for second chances! You are a God that loves redemption. You never waste a moment to teach so I will not waste an opportunity to learn.
I thank you for the friendships I’ve been given. Both the good and the bad have taught me valuable lessons and I commit to looking to each with a heart of humility, grace, compassion and forgiveness.
I repent for not being the kind of friend you wanted me to be; I was stubborn, impatient, judgmental and harsh. There have been countless times I have not reflected your glory and this has drawn the wrong dynamic into my relationships.
I bless all those I’ve hurt; give me the words to say and the actions that will prove my commitment to change. Clear away the unhealthy habits that have hurt my relationships; show me a new way to engage. Bless me with the humility to admit when I am wrong and to rebuild from a place of trust and respect.
Give me an understanding that there will be people I love that are not healthy for me at this time; bless me to gracefully let them go.
I want to honor you with my life and this means choosing friends who desire to serve and live for you. Show me who these people are…draw me to them and draw them to me. Bless us to bring out the best in each other.
Together, we will accomplish much for you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
