What are they?
They are a demonic pattern which operates in your family bloodline.
There can be physical curses:
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Addictions
- Mental Instability
There can be spiritual curses:
- Witchcraft
- Depression
- Sexual Immorality
There can be relational curses:
- Divorce
- Disunity/Division
- Rebellion
- Incest
Oftentimes we can feel compelled to repeat family dysfunctions out of honoring our Beloved family.
Here are some examples of how we can ‘agree with a curse’:
Agreeing with a physical curse:
We accept unhealthy drinking or eating because we are Italians, and this is how our family celebrates. We can be dishonoring what our bodies and doctors are warning us and open our lives to an early death, which is a curse.
Agreeing with a Spiritual curse:
My Grandmother had a miniature Buddhist temple in her home. She passed it down to us. We love our grandma and want to honor her and our Asian heritage, but more importantly we will honor Jesus. There are other ways of honoring my grandma that won’t defile my worship of God.
Agreeing with a Relational curse:
Allowing a Spirit of Offense and Unforgiveness to build a wall in my heart where I am separated from my family, engaging with a hard heart. Jesus instructed those who refuse to forgive will not be forgiven. Holding grudges and offense reflects a hardened and rebellious heart, which is a spiritual curse that can separate us from God.
Why does the devil want to repeat a pattern in our family?
Satan wants spiritual blindness to oppress God’s plan for the abundant life Now and eternal life later.
How to break a bloodline curse:
- Repent for sinning against God.
- Renounce the open doors your sin created.
- Remove all offensive items, activities, relationships and mindsets which grieve the Holy Spirit.
Breaking curses opens your life to Blessing and Favor.God wants us to not just think of ourselves but think of the generations before and after us. We must leave an imprint of God and a legacy.
Pay attention to your family history so you can call out repeating patterns and do a pattern interrupt.
Tips for coming against Generational Curses:
-Be specific when calling out sicknesses, sin, witchcraft and occult activities.
-Be specific if you know certain family members were engaged so you can break off all demonic attachments.
-Apply the blood of Jesus
-Apply the principals of His word.
-Live out the word.
-Don’t pray in Doubt, Fear or Unbelief. God works with Faith.
-Discipline the items and activities that go on in your home. Don’t get sloppy when it comes to paying attention spiritually.
-Live consistent. Live out the principles you say in public in your private life.
-If you’re children need deliverance, It’s important to do a self-assessment as you are setting the spiritual temperature of the home as parents are the gatekeepers.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Exercise to Break off Curses:
-Take inventory of your family’s bloodline, writing down every area of oppression. Assess and discuss what has been plaguing your parents, children and grandchildren. Call each point of affliction out. Diabetes, Debt, Mental health…whatever! This list will help you pray with power.
-This prayer list is something you should do consistently. The devil had a stronghold and he won’t easily let go. It’s your persistence that will wear HIM down.
-Make sure to take inventory of your blessings to focus on God’s goodness and keep hope alive!
The main objective is the Enemy wants to render you weak and useless in the Kingdom. He whispers things like:
-“God is not working or something should have happened by now.”
-“Why bother? Your family will never change.”
-“Your prayers are weak and ineffective. Stop wasting your life. Do something fun.”
Prayer to Break off Generational Curses:
“Heavenly Father,
There is a power in unity and agreement, and we break every generational bloodline curse. We uproot all ancient demonic contracts.
We bind every devil, witchcraft, hex and spiritual leakage.
We send the fire of God through the Blood of Jesus to dismantle all Bloodline curse through the mother’s and father’s bloodline leading all the way back to Adam.
We crush the head of the serpent and his venomous lies over the mind, heart and eyes of every family member.
We speak life, not death. Truth, not lies. Victory not defeat.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I release the fire of God, the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the presence of God to everybody alive and in our future history. Lord, we give you permission to restore what was broken and stolen and to make all things completely healed and new. In Jesus’ name, we love and praise you Amen.”
