Mornings are my favorite time of day. I love getting up early while the world is still sleeping and spending time with the Lord. I have a CD player next to my bed, so I turn on the Julie True CD, “Music to Journal By.” I then make my delicious cup of coffee (with coconut oil, of course) and snuggle back into bed with my Bible, Jesus Calling Book and journal. I first read Jesus Calling which always seems appropriate for the day. The scriptures lead me into God’s Word where I find myself going on an adventure…. sometimes lots of scripture, sometimes not, but always pertinent.
I am then ready to journal. I took (on dvd’s) Mark Virkler’s 4 Keys to Hearing God’s voice four years ago. One of the keys is to quiet yourself down. This is done through worship and the above. When I sense my spirit moving with His, I know I am ready to journal. The reason this step is so important is because I want to hear His voice, not my own. I begin by thanking Him.
For example: “Lord I thank you for………, the list can get long but somewhere in this process, I sense something I want to talk to Him about. I then write, ” Lord, I give you this day, what do you want to say to me?”
He will begin by saying,
“My daughter…” As I write those words I begin to get a sense of Him speaking to me. Mark Virkler would call it ‘turning to spontaneity.’ The Lord begins to tell me how much He adores me. On some days, that is all I need. Other days I recieve His marching orders. He will tell me how to solve a problem, what to do during my day, how to think, etc. After hearing from Him, I feel grounded with His wisdom and filled with His Spirit. I am ready to face the day! I love journaling because I can go back to my journals years later to see what God was saying to me at that time and how He honored His word!
He is the best! And two-way dialoguing with Him makes life worth living!
I am with you. I am building you up from the inside out. I am doing a miracle in you. You will see. I will protect you. You will be strong. Your immune system will be strong. You will live!
Don’t get ahead of me. Let me do the work. Receive the love I died to give you. Know you are valued and cherished. Your strength comes from My Spirit living in you, not from protecting yourself. Let go, I will do it!! “
Then He gave me a scripture: John 11:4 “This sickness is not to end in death; but on the contrary, it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
Wow, What a word from the Lord. Something He was teaching me during that time was to trust Him. I had a choice- would I believe Him? God has always been faithful and He does not a lie. I chose to believe Him. He anchored me in Romans 4 and Hebrews 11.
Romans 4:21 ” Abraham was fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and do what He had promised.”
Hebrews 11:11 “ Because of faith, Sarah herself received physical power to conceive a child, even when she was long past the age for it because she considered God who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word.
***It has been over three years since that journal entry and I am completely cancer free!
